Vilafinil is the trade name of a drug called Modafinil which is manufactured by Centurion Laboratories. Modafinil is a psychostimulant that is used in medicine to treat obstructive sleep apnea, shift work sleep disorder, narcolepsy and some other conditions, by reducing intense fatigue in people that suffer with these conditions.

Effects of Modafinil

Modafinil’s main function is to improve cognitive function. It blocks dopamine transporters and boosts dopamine in the human brain improving flexibility, organization and decision making, creativeness, learning and memory. The most noted effects are increased focus, acute alertness and improved productivity. Modafinil restricts the user's appetite, it is often used in sports to help athletes lose weight. By reducing tiredness and increasing training endurance, the drug is beneficial during training.

Side effects of the drug

Mild side effects are rare and they almost always result from improper drug administration. Insomnia may occur if the drug is taken within 12 hours of going to bed. A lack in water intake could lead to headaches. A nervous or anxious feeling could occur after taking an overdose.

Using Modafinil

• Modafinil should be taken orally along with lots of water throughout the day.
• Modafinil should be taken at least 12 hours before you go to bed to avoid sleeplessness.
• Recommended dose to enhance focus is up to 200mg per day.
• Maximum dose for full productivity is 400mg per day.
