Altamofen is an effective anti-estrogenic drug with the property of increasing the production of endogenous testosterone. The drug produced the pharmaceutical company Alpha Pharma contains the active substance Tamoxifen Citrate. In sports practice, it is effectively used both after and as part of steroid courses, in order to prevent and minimize the consequences. As intended, it is an anti-estrogenic agent.
Properties and effects
Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor blocker. The action is based on the ability to block estrogen receptors: the drug and some of its metabolites compete for binding sites with estrogenic (female) hormones, thus preventing and minimizing their negative effects (including on the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular arc, which, as a result, has a positive effect on the production of endogenous testosterone).

How to take Tamoxifen
The average recommended doses of Tamoxifen vary from 10mg to 40mg per day (respectively, half a tablet – 2 tablets per day). After oral administration, the drug is rapidly absorbed: the effective concentration is achieved in 4-7 hours. The use of Tamoxifen for post-cycle therapy (PCT) can effectively last for several weeks, on average up to 3 weeks, which is enough for most athletes to recover and consolidate the results of the course.
Tamoxifen itself is not a steroid drug, therefore it is safe to use after and during steroid courses (depending on the tasks). It does not independently show anabolic and androgenic activity, but it is capable of indirectly (by increasing the level of testosterone, which has the necessary properties).

Taking Tamoxifen in bodybuilding is not accompanied by increased risks of its own side effects, but in order to avoid potential consequences, it is necessary to exclude contraindications for use: hypersensitivity to the substance or components in the composition, the period of pregnancy or lactation in women; with caution – with diabetes mellitus, eye diseases, renal failure, liver failure, thrombosis, thromboembolic disease, hyperlipidemia, leukopenia, hypercalcemia and a number of other diseases.
